What is the process of Admissions to IIT

Minimum Eligibility for IIT’s

  • 75% marks in Class 12 ( Maths/Science streams) – CBSE, ICSE, State boards

Admission to IIT is a three step process. All students are are interested in getting an admission in one of the IIT’s then need to follow below process

For Undergraduate admissions

  • Appear for JEE Main examination ( Joint Entrance Examination – Main )
  • Students qualified in JEE Main, need to appear for JEE Advance
  • Students qualified in JEE Advance need to attend the Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counselling

The JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced are known as among the world’s toughest exams.

For Post graduate admissions

Candidates must have qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for admissions to M.Tech programmes. Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and those in the final year of these programs can apply for GATE.
